Health Plan Contributions

Health Plan Contributions will increase for the Classic option only. The Saver HSA contributions will remain the same for 2019.

Saver HSA Company Contribution Increase

Marathon Petroleum’s contribution to the Health Savings Accounts will increase from $350 to $500 for Employee Only coverage, and from $700 to $1,000 for Employee + Dependent(s) coverage.

Dental Plan

The administrator of the Dental Plan will change from Cigna to Delta Dental, effective January 1, 2019. Employee contributions will increase.

Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

The FSA grace period will change to allow a $500 carry over into 2020. The last day to incur expenses for your 2019 election will be December 31, 2019.

Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA)

NEW! Employees may elect a Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account for 2019.

Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit Increase (Basic AD&D)

Marathon Petroleum provided Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment life insurance will increase from one times your annual covered compensation, to two times.

Optional Employee and Dependent Life Insurance Rates Decrease

Optional life insurance contributions will decrease for all ages.

Parental Leave

Marathon Petroleum will provide 8 weeks of paid parental leave for all birthing-parents. A non-birthing parent will receive 4 weeks of parental pay, to include adoption and foster placement. Sick pay will no longer be used for birthing mothers unless the mother experiences medical complications before delivery, or after the 8 weeks of parental pay.

Wellness

The Wellness incentive will increase from $250 to $400 for employees, and from $150 to $200 for an eligible dependent.

Marathon Scholars

The Scholars Program will increase the number of awards to 100 and increase the scholarship amount to $4,000 for 2019. Scholarship America will begin accepting applications in January of 2019.

Sick Time Schedule

The Sick Benefit schedule will be enhanced so that employees receive 100% of sick pay at earlier milestones. The partial pay benefit will decrease from 60% to 50%.

Educational Reimbursement

The per-hour reimbursement rate has been eliminated for Educational Reimbursement. The Company will reimburse up to $5,250 per year for undergraduate studies and $9,000 per year for graduate studies.

Pre-65 Retiree Dental

Marathon Petroleum’s Dental Plan will be administered by Delta Dental, effective January 1, 2019. The monthly Dental contributions will not change. Please see the Pre-65 Retiree Guide for more information on the Dental Plan.
