How to Enroll

You can enroll online or by using a paper form. You must enroll within 60 days of your date of hire. If you make your benefit elections prior to or on the first day of hire, the effective date will be your date of hire. If you enroll between day 2 and day 60, coverage is effective on the date you make your online elections or the date the form is received by a Company representative.

Claims incurred prior to the date of enrollment will not be covered. If you do not enroll within 60 days, coverage will be waived and you cannot make any elections until the next Open Enrollment period.

Enrollment Steps

  • Enroll online through MPCConnect. Go to Employee Center, then SAP Online Services and use your network User ID and password to log on. Choose HR Services, then choose My First Days under the QuickLinks menu.
    Or, you can enroll by completing a Benefits Enrollment/Change Form. Fax or scan and email your form to the Benefits Service Center. If you wish to return it by mail or through Human Resources, have them sign and date it first.
  • If you have dependents, you must complete page 2 of the Benefits Enrollment/Change Form and send it to the Benefits Service Center, along with the required documentation. The form should be completed for all dependents, even if you do not intend to add them to your benefits coverage at this time.
  • If you wish to add a domestic partner, submit the original Affidavit of Domestic Partner Relationship Form and the required documentation. The Affidavit must be signed by both parties in the presence of a notary public. Please note: Marathon Petroleum recognizes same-sex spouses. If you are married, do NOT complete the Affidavit of Domestic Partner Relationship form to add your same-sex spouse as a domestic partner – complete page 2 of the Benefits Enrollment/Change Form as indicated in the bullet above.
  • If you wish to add a common law spouse, submit the Affidavit of Common Law Marriage Form and the required documentation. The Affidavit must be signed by both parties in the presence of a notary public.
  • If you enroll online and did not submit page 2 of the Benefits Enrollment/Change Form prior to your hire date, you will not be able to enroll in Spouse Life Insurance until your spouse is in the system. To elect Spouse Life Insurance coverage, complete the Spouse Life Insurance Form and return it with page 2 of the Benefits Enrollment/Change Form and marriage license within 60 days of your date of hire.
